history
In 1909 the first chapel was built in Selhausen. The church was completely destroyed during the Second World War . In 1965 a chapel building association was founded in Selhausen to rebuild a prayer house for the small village. In 1969 the parish of St. Josef , Huchem-Stammeln , to which Selhausen has belonged since 1864, decided to build a new building. Construction began in 1970 and at the end of 1973 the building, which was built according to plans by the Düren architect Helmut Lüttgen, was inaugurated.
