Mariliis Valkonen
Mariliis Valkonen (born July 31, 1981 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian composer.
life and work
Mariliis Valkonen graduated from the Georg Ots Music High School in Tallinn in 2001. She then studied at the Estonian Music and Theater Academy with Eino Tamberg and Helena Tulve . Since 2005 she has been a member of the Estonian Composers' Union ( Eesti Heliloojate Liit ).
Mariliis Valkonen is one of Estonia's most famous young composers . Her pieces of music for orchestra, various musical formations and solo instruments are often short and of great intensity. She also composes choral music and pieces for solo singing.
