Winds in the Mediterranean

The Marin ( French le marin , 'the sailor', 'sea-') is a moist onshore sea wind in the southern French Mediterranean region, mainly in the Lion Golf and Provence . He also performs in the Adriatic . It blows from southwest to southeast and becomes strong up to 6  Bft . Its appearance draws a warm front of a low pressure area with it.

Its formation is favored by a low pressure area over northwestern Europe and a high over the southern Mediterranean area. This pressure difference as well as channeling effects between the Alps and the Pyrenees lead to a south-easterly flow.
