Marina Andrejewna Pupenina ( Russian Мари́на Андре́евна Пупе́нина ; born August 29, 1982 in Kiskunmajsa , Hungary ), known as Marina Alexandrowa, is a Russian actress .

Life

Alexandrowa's father was a Soviet officer stationed in Hungary , her mother a professor at the Herzen University of St. Petersburg . She lived with her parents in Hungary for the first five years and only then moved to Daurien ; later to St. Petersburg. At the age of 14 she attended the Imagine drama school; at 17 she went to Moscow .

She took on one of her first film roles in 2001 in Severnoje sijanije (also Aurora Borealis ). The attention she gained earned her another role in the television film Asasel in 2002 . In 2003 she was seen as Dziwa in The Vikings - Attack of the Northmen . From 2004 to 2007 she played the recurring character Toma in the television series Viola Tarakanowa . In addition, she worked as a stage actress at the Sovremennik Theater from 2006 to 2011. Numerous other appearances in film and television productions followed. Since 2014 she has played the role of Catherine II in the television series Jekaterina .

From June 2008 to April 2010 Alexandrowa was married to the actor Ivan Stebunov . With her partner Andrei Boltenko, she had a son in July 2012 and a daughter in September 2015.
