Mario Bampi

Mario Bampi (born January 30, 1938 in Trento ) is a former Italian cyclist .

Athletic career

Bampi was active as a road driver. At the UCI Road World Championships in 1958 , he just missed the podium in the final sprint when Gustav-Adolf Schur won, finishing fourth. In 1959 he won a stage of the International Peace Tour , then retired after a fall during the course of the race. In 1960 he started as a professional driver for Team Molteni and drove the Giro d'Italia (69th place) for his captain Guido Messina , as well as in 1961 (57th place). He could not assert himself in the professional profession and ended his career in 1962.
