Mario Fayos
Mario Fayos , full name Mario Q. Fayos Romero , (born February 2, 1927 ) is a former Uruguayan athlete .
Career
The 1.78 meter tall Fayos was active in the running competitions on the sprint courses. At the South American Championships in 1947 he was a runner in the 4 x 100 meter relay , which won silver. He was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1948 Olympic Games in London . He reached the quarter-finals on the 100 meter course. Over 200 meters and with the 4 x 100 meter relay, he was eliminated in each of the heats. At the South American Athletics Championships in Lima in 1949 , he won the title over 200 meters and bronze on the 100-meter course . He also took part with the Uruguayan team in the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires .
