1947 South American Athletics Championships

The XV. The South American Athletics Championships took place from April 26 to May 4, 1947 in Rio de Janeiro . The most successful athlete was the Argentine sprinter Alberto Triulzi with three wins. The most successful participant was the Argentine Noëmi Simonetto with four wins and one second place.

Men's competitions

The men's team championship was won by Argentina with 122 points, followed by the Brazilians with 71 points and the Chilean team with 69 points. Peru scored 16 points, Uruguay 10 points.
