1924 South American Athletics Championships
The III. The South American Athletics Championships were held in Buenos Aires from April 17-22. The team from Argentina won the team with 141 points, ahead of Chile with 112 points and the Uruguayans with 36 points. The most successful athlete was the Chilean long-distance runner Manuel Plaza , who won three individual titles and was part of the winning team in the 3,000-meter team run. The Chilean javelin thrower Arturo Medina was the only athlete to win his competition for the third time in a row.
