1937 South American Athletics Championships

The 10th South American Athletics Championships took place in São Paulo from May 27th to 30th, 1937 . At this first event in Brazil, the Brazilian team also won the team championship for the first time. Behind the Brazilians with 152 points, the Argentine athletes were placed with 104 points, followed by the Peruvians with 27 points and Uruguay with 14 points. The Chilean defending champions did not start. The most successful athlete was the Brazilian João Rehder Netto with two titles and a second place.
