José Farías
José Farías Ríos (born October 20, 1909 ; † unknown) was a Peruvian athlete who was South American champion in 1935.
Farías won the road race over 32 kilometers at the South American Championships in Santiago de Chile in 1935 with two and a half minutes ahead of the Chilean Manuel Ramírez . In the cross-country run, he had finished fourth two days earlier. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, three Peruvians competed in the marathon and all three runners crossed the finish line. Farías finished 42nd and last, more than an hour behind the winner. The following year, Farías won two silver medals at the 1937 South American Championships in São Paulo. In cross-country he crossed the finish line more than a minute behind the Argentine Raul Ibarra . Two days later, the Argentine Saturnino Cuello won the 32-kilometer run by almost four minutes.
