1954 South American Athletics Championships

The XVIII. The South American Athletics Championships took place in São Paulo from April 17-25, 1954 . The most successful participant was the Brazilian sprinter José Telles da Conceição with three wins and a second place. In the women's category, Brazilian Deyse de Castro won five medals, one of which was gold.

Men's competitions

The men's team was won by the Brazilian team with 315 points, ahead of the Chileans with 177 points and the Peruvian team with 61 points. Behind them Venezuela scored 51 points, Uruguay 23 points and Colombia 19 points.
