Ary de Sá

Ary de Sá , full name Ary Façanha de Sá , (born April 1, 1928 in Guimarães , Maranhão ) is a former Brazilian long jumper and sprinter .

In 1952 he won the long jump at the Athletics South American Championships in Buenos Aires and came fourth at the Olympic Games in Helsinki .

At the South American Championships in São Paulo in 1954 , he won bronze in the long jump. The following year he won bronze in the same discipline at the 1955 Pan-American Games in Mexico City and won the International University Sports Week in San Sebastián.

At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he was eliminated in the long jump in qualification and reached the semi-finals in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

At the South American Championships, silver medals followed in the long jump in 1956 in Santiago and 1958 in Montevideo .
