Marion Morgenstern

Marion Morgenstern (* 12. September 1952 in Köthen as Marion Helmund ) is a German politician ( SED , PDS ).

Life

After attending elementary and high school in Berlin and graduating from high school, Morgenstern studied history and geography at Humboldt University . She acquired the title of qualified teacher and obtained her doctorate in 1982 and 1988 as a Dr. sc. phil.

Morgenstern worked for twelve years as an assistant and senior assistant at the Institute for International Labor Movement at the Academy for Social Sciences . In 1994 she began working at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin , where she works in the women's representative office. She is co-editor and member of the editorial board of the gender magazine “Quer - Think, Read, Write”.

Morgenstern joined the SED in 1972, for which she was a political assistant in the Central Committee in the Culture Department and in the International Relations Section at the end of the 1980s. After the SED became the PDS in 1990, it ran for the party executive in Berlin. It belonged to the last People's Chamber and, until the end of 1990, to the German Bundestag .
