Claudio Gugerotti
Claudio Gugerotti (born October 7, 1955 in Verona , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
The Bishop of Verona , Giuseppe Amari , ordained him a priest on May 29, 1982 .
In 1985 he entered the service of the Holy See and later became Undersecretary in the Congregation for the Eastern Churches . Pope John Paul II awarded him the honorary title of Chaplain of His Holiness ( Monsignor ) on September 25, 1990 .
On December 7, 2001, John Paul II appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Georgia and Armenia and Titular Archbishop of Rebellum . In addition, on December 13 of the same year he was appointed Apostolic Nuncio in Azerbaijan . He was ordained bishop John Paul II on January 6, 2002 in St. Peter's Basilica ; Co-consecrators were the Curia Archbishops Leonardo Sandri and Robert Sarah .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on July 15, 2011 as Apostolic Nuncio in Belarus . On November 13, 2015, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine .
On July 4, 2020, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Nuncio in Great Britain .
