Marion Weissenberger-Eibl

Marion Weissenberger-Eibl (* 1966 in Germany ) is a German engineer, university professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and since 2007 director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) .

Life

After graduating from high school in Traunreut , Weissenberger-Eibl trained as a clothing seamstress . She then studied clothing technology at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences and, in 1997, business administration at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 2000 she did her doctorate at the Technical University of Munich on the subject of knowledge management as an instrument of strategic corporate management in corporate networks .

From 1997 to 2003 Weissenberger-Eibl was a research assistant and head of research at the chair for business administration with a focus on logistics at the Technical University of Munich. In 2003 she qualified as a professor at the Faculty of Economics with the thesis Corporate Development and Market Structure Innovation - Perspectives of a Sustainable Management Model . She taught at the University of St. Gallen , the Technical University of Munich and the University of Kassel . Weissenberger-Eibl has been director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research ISI since 2007. Since 2013 she has held the Chair of Innovation and Technology Management at the Institute for Entrepreneurship , Technology Management and Innovation (ENTECHNON) of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Weissenberger-Eibl is a member of a large number of national and international scientific societies and associations. She accompanied the expert dialogue of Chancellor Angela Merkel and is a member of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) due to her scientific merits as an innovation researcher .

In 2014 Weissenberger-Eibl became a member of the German-Chinese Dialogue Forum, and she also moderated the topic group “The future needs holistic solutions” in the International Germany Forum. Since 2017 she has been active in the strategy dialogue "Automobilwirtschaft Baden-Württemberg" and the steering committee of the German government's Sustainability 2030 Science Platform.

Weissenberger-Eibl is involved in the structure of the Commission for the re-establishment of the University of Nuremberg and the University Council of the University of Heidelberg . She has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the German Study Award since 2018 .

  • In 2018, Weissenberger-Eibl received the award "Germany's top female supervisory board" from Manager Magazin.
  • In February 2016 Weissenberger-Eibl received the “Teaching Award” for the lecture Innovation Management (SS 2015) “Concepts. Strategies and Methods ”awarded by the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).
  • In January 2016, Weissenberger-Eibl received an award for research on corporate and regional innovation networks and for its contribution to increased cooperation between science and business by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.
  • In 2011 Weissenberger-Eibl received the award for one of the “25 most influential women engineers in Germany”, awarded by the German Association of Women Engineers.
  • In 2003 Weissenberger-Eibl received an award from the President of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for its collaboration in the founding process of the new "Faculty of Economics" and the establishment of the "Technology and Management-Oriented Business Administration" course.
  • In 2001 Weissenberger-Eibl was awarded the “Good Teaching 2001” prize from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the Technical University of Munich.
