Marius Gherman
Marius Gherman (born July 14, 1967 in Sibiu ) is a former Romanian artistic gymnast .
He started gymnastics at CSȘ Sibiu and later moved to CS Dinamo Bucharest after he was accepted into the national team.
Gherman won the bronze medal on parallel bars at the European Gymnastics Championships in Oslo in 1985 . At the European Championships in Moscow in 1987 , he was fourth on the horizontal bar.
In 1988 he took part in the Olympic Games in. In Seoul he won bronze on the horizontal bar with the GDR gymnast Holger Behrendt tied. He was also fifth in the all-around competition and on parallel bars and seventh with the Romanian team. In 1989 Gherman won the bronze medal at the European gymnastics championships in jumping.
In 1992 Gherman took part in his second Olympic Games in Barcelona and was seventh in the all-around competition and with the team. Since 1987 Gherman had also participated in all world championships. He achieved his best result in 1993 when he was runner-up on the horizontal bar behind the Russian Sergei Kharkov at the World Championships in Birmingham .
After his resignation, Marius Gherman became a UK coach in 1997.
