Marius Thomsen (born December 22, 1981 in Flensburg ) is a German director from the genre of independent films .

life and work

Thomsen became known throughout Germany through the splatter film series " Bone Forest", which he brought into circulation through his independent production company Nocturnis Pictures. These are distributed on DVD by Maximum Uncut Productions in the Dark Frame series. Thomsen mainly works in the cinematic underground. His preferred actors include amateur actors from his circle of friends. His passion are films from all sectors (mainstream, B- and C- movies & independent), which you can also see in his works. There are always quotations and style references, such as B. Thomsen's humorous point of view, aimed specifically at Lloyd Kaufman and his Troma films (such as "Troma's War"; "The Toxic Avenger"; "Tromeo and Juliet").

Since 2009 he has been working on the action-horror comedy "Terror Island Holocaust", which lovingly revisits old action and horror films from the last few decades and pays tribute to and parodies them in a special way. Dennis Juergensen plays the leading role again. In February 2013, the splatter film was renamed Terror Island Overkill . A release on DVD is planned for 2014 by Maximum Uncut Productions.

Thomsen is one of the newcomers to the German independent scene such as B. Philip Polcar , David Brückner , Sebastian Zeglarski , Markus Hagen , Andreas Schaap , Stefan Schwenk , Stefan Svahn , Lars Rohnstock & Marc Rohnstock , Daniel Flügger and Leslie Teah .
