Mark (product name)
Mark or M or Mk followed by a number in the product name provides information about the development stage of the product. The term is derived from the English word mark in the sense of (progress) marking. Often the addition is only used from the second version of a product, unless it is foreseeable that there will be further versions. The aim is to transfer trust in an established brand to the new product after the end of the product life cycle .
