career

Flick, the son of a German mother, grew up in the US state of California  and played basketball at Cerritos High School until 1991. From 1992 to 1996 he played for the University of California, Santa Barbara team . During his four years as a member of UCSB, Flick increased his points average each season, from 2.3 (1992/93) to 14.2 (1995/96).

In 1996 he moved to SG Braunschweig in Germany and played for Lower Saxony in the Bundesliga until 1999. He made a name for himself above all as an accurate distance shooter. Flick showed his best Bundesliga performance in this regard during the 1998/99 season when he scored eight in a game with Braunschweig against Trier in eleven throws from beyond the three-point line. After a detour to the first French league in the 1999/2000 season ( JDA Dijon ), Flick returned to Braunschweig and scored an average of 14.3 per game in the 2000/01 season. When the Braunschweig team got into turmoil during the 2000/01 season due to the bankruptcy of the main financier, Flick was one of two regular players who stayed in Braunschweig. In spring 2001 he ended his career as a professional basketball player and went back to California.
