Mark Selwyn Hadlow ONZM (* 1957 in Walgett ) is a New Zealand actor and comedian .

Life

Hadlow, who is also a Marine Lieutenant in the Reserve, works primarily as an actor, director and producer at the Court Theater in Christchurch, New Zealand.

He is also considered a popular comedian in his home country, known from sitcoms like Willy Nilly and The Billy T James Show alongside the Maori comedian Billy T James. Hadlow has published an audio book called Tall Tales , in which he tells classic children's stories.

In the film adaptation of JRR Tolkien's novel The Hobbit by director Peter Jackson , Hadlow took on the role of the dwarf Dori and also brought the troll Bert to life through motion capture . This isn't the first time he's worked with Peter Jackson, with whom he 'd worked on King Kong and Meet the Feebles .
