Mark Hertling
Mark Phillip Hertling (born September 29, 1953 in St. Louis ) is a US Lieutenant General a. D.
Life
In service since 1975, Hertling reached the rank of general in 2003. He commanded the 1st Armored Division stationed in Germany , was then commander of the 28,000-strong task force in northern Iraq from 2007 to 2009, and was deputy general for basic training from 2009 to 2011 Army, responsible for training at 27 locations, and finally from March 25, 2011 to November 4, 2012 Commander of the United States Army Europe or the Seventh Army . He accompanied the relocation of many units to Wiesbaden .
He left the Army in December 2012. He was succeeded as Commanding General of the United States Army Europe by Donald M. Campbell .
Hertling joined the management of the Florida Hospital hospital group. President Obama appointed him to his fitness, exercise, and nutrition council.
In 2017, he spoke in connection with James B. Comey's testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee.
