The hybrid splendor spar , hybrid astilbe or garden astilbe ( Astilbe × arendsii ) is a bred hybrid group from the genus of splendor spar ( Astilbe ). Astilbe astilboides , Astilbe japonica and Astilbe thunbergii as mother plants and Astilbe chinensis var. Davidii as father plant were particularly involved in the breeding .

There are numerous varieties. Based on their flowering times, these are divided into the three flowering groups: early flowering group (July), middle flowering group (July to August) and late flowering group (August to September). The varieties can be z. B. differ from each other by height, foliage color and flower color. The flowers can be white, light pink, dark pink, purple pink, salmon red, red, and dark red.
