The hybrid splendor spar , hybrid astilbe or garden astilbe ( Astilbe × arendsii ) is a bred hybrid group from the genus of splendor spar ( Astilbe ). Astilbe astilboides , Astilbe japonica and Astilbe thunbergii as mother plants and Astilbe chinensis var. Davidii as father plant were particularly involved in the breeding .

There are numerous varieties. Based on their flowering times, these are divided into the three flowering groups: early flowering group (July), middle flowering group (July to August) and late flowering group (August to September).
