Mark McNulty (born October 25, 1953 in Bindwa, Federation of Rhodesia and Nyassaland ) is an Irish professional golfer . He was one of the leading players on the European Tour from the mid- 1980s to the mid- 1990s .

Career

After a successful amateur career, McNulty began as a professional golfer in the South African tournament series . From 1978 he also played on the European Tour and came in 1986 for the first time in the top 10 of the money list . He won a total of 16 tournaments there, including the important 1996 Volvo Masters . His last victory on that tour was in 2001. Up to 2002, he had an additional 35 tournament victories worldwide.

Having become a senior golfer at the age of 50, he qualified for the US Champions Tour from the 2004 season. Mc Nulty got off to a brilliant start and immediately won the first tournament he took part in. Two more victories followed, one of them at the important Senior Tour Championship ( Charles Schwab Cup ), and at the end of that season a 7th place in the money list. Two successes in 2005 brought him third place in the annual ranking and one in 2007 increased his number of victories in the Champions Tour to six.

McNulty took Irish citizenship in 2003, but currently lives in Sunningdale, an affluent township west of London with prominent golf courses and top golfers such as Ernie Els and Nick Faldo in the neighborhood. He has been married to his wife Alison since 1998 and has two children, Matthew (1985) and Catherine (1988).
