The BMW International Open is an international golf tournament on the European Tour . It has been held annually since 1989 on the grounds of the Munich Eichenried Golf Club . This series was interrupted three times (1994–1996) and the tournament was held on the grounds of the St. Eurach Country and Golf Club. From 2012 onwards, the tournament will be held alternately at Gut Lärchenhof in Pulheim near Cologne and Eichenried. Since 2019, the tournament has no longer been held annually, but exclusively in Eichenried.
With two million euros in prize money, the event is within the average of the European tournament series (European Tour). With an average of around 60,000 spectators throughout the tournament week, the BMW International Open is the largest professional golf tournament in Germany. In the 20th edition, in 2008, Martin Kaymer was the first German to win after Bernhard Langer had taken second place several times.
