Niclas Fasth (born April 29, 1972 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish professional golfer on the European Tour .

Career

He started his career in 1993 and won three tournaments on the Challenge Tour that year . He has been a permanent member of the European Tour since 1994 , with the exception of the 1999 season, which he had to spend on the Challenge Tour. Fasth had tried for the majority of the 1998 season in the USA on the PGA TOUR and thus missed the money list placement necessary for eligibility to play on the European Tour. He was also unable to establish himself on the North American tournament series. Fasth then concentrated again on European tournaments and achieved his best ranking in the European Tour Order of Merit in 2001 with 10th place , not least thanks to a second place at the Open Championship behind David Duval . Another good season followed in 2005 with two tournament successes and a 13th place in the money list. In the golf world rankings he made it into the top 40. In the 2006 season he was able to win the prestigious Open de España and at the Mallorca Classic he achieved another victory on Spanish soil.

Fasth played four times for his country in the World Cup , three times for continental Europe in the Seve Trophy and was part of the victorious European Ryder Cup team in 2002 .

Niclas Fasth has been married to his wife Marie since 2002. The two have two children and live in Ascot, England .
