David Feherty

David Feherty (born August 13, 1958 in Bangor , Northern Ireland ) is a former professional golfer on the European Tour and the PGA Tour . He currently works as a writer and moderator.

Feherty played mostly in Europe, where he won five times on the European Tour and was placed in the top ten of the European Tour Order of Merit twice , in 1989 as tenth and in 1990 as eighth. In 1994 and 1995 he mainly competed in the PGA Tour, where his best result came in second at the New England Classic in 1994. His total prize pool is over $ 3 million.

Feherty represented Ireland several times in international competitions, including as team leader of the victorious Alfred Dunhill Cup team in 1990. In addition, Feherty played in 1991 with the Ryder Cup team for Europe.

In 1997, Feherty retired from the European and PGA Tour and worked as a live reporter and golf analyst for CBS Sports . Feherty also publishes frequently in Golf Magazine and has its own column in that magazine called Sidespin . In the game Tiger Woods PGA Tour from EA Sports he can be seen as the announcer together with Gary McCord . He lives in Dallas with his wife and five children .

Feherty has long struggled with depression and alcoholism .

Together with George Lopez , Feherty was the organizer of the Lopez-Feherty Foundation Anti-Pro-Am in November 2005.
