Andrés Fabián Romero (born May 8, 1981 in Tucumán , Argentina ) is an Argentinian professional golfer of the European Tour and the PGA TOUR .

With the support of his uncle Miguel Romero, he learned to play golf at the age of eight. He became a professional golfer in 1998 and, after initially failing to qualify for the European Tour, tried his hand at South American tournament series, where Romero was able to record three successes.

In the 2005 season he achieved a 14th place in the Challenge Tour money list to play for the European Tour 2006. In July 2006, he achieved a second place at the prestigious Scottish Open in Loch Lomond , which also gave him a starting place for the Open Championship in 2006. The prize money of over € 258,000 secured Romero early full membership of the major European tournament series for the 2007 season, in which, after a third place at the Open Championship, he won his first European Tour victory a week later, at the Deutsche Bank Players Championship of Europe succeeded. In March 2008 the first tournament victory followed on the North American PGA TOUR , at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans .

Romero gave up his previous passion, unicycling, for the sake of his golf career because he considered it too dangerous.

Andrés is neither related nor related by marriage to his famous compatriot and professional colleague Eduardo Romero , but he was discovered and promoted by Eduardo.
