Mark Prince (* 10. March 1969 in London , England ) is a former boxer in the heavyweight , who by fighting against Dariusz Michalczewski increasingly gained and Michael Gale awareness.
Career
Prince's career was relatively short. In his build-up phase he was able to defeat well-known opponents, almost only through knockout. Prince attracted attention early on, as his fighting style was very similar to that of Henry Maske , but he still knocked out his opponents within a few rounds. He defeated Michael Gale and Kenny Whack, among others.
In autumn 1996 a world championship fight against the undefeated title holder Dariusz Michalczewski was planned. Since Prince got a shoulder injury during training, it was canceled. After several postponements, the title fight finally took place in 1998. Michalczewski held three of the four world associations at the time with the WBA , IBF and WBO and was considered the invincible, undisputed number one in the light heavyweight division after victories against Leeonzer Barber , Graciano Rocchigiani , Virgil Hill etc. As expected, the blatant outsider Prince lost the fight with a knockout in the eighth round, as he could never put his opponent who was superior in boxing on the defensive or could lead him into distress.
After this defeat he knocked out Kevin Mittchel and ended his career.
