Mark Protosevich

Mark Protosevich (born August 24, 1961 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American screenwriter .

Life

Protosevich studied at Columbia College Chicago , which he graduated in 1983. In the late 1990s, Protosevich wrote a script called Batman Triumphant , which was to serve as a sequel to Batman & Robin . The film was not shot.

The first film based on one of his scripts was The Cell from 2000. He was also involved in this production as a co-producer. For his work he received a nomination for the Bram Stoker Award .

His next film was Poseidon , released in 2006. This disaster film is a remake of The Descent into Hell (1972). Protosevich traveled aboard the Queen Mary 2 in preparation for the film .

In 2007 he worked with Akiva Goldsman on the script for the end-time film I Am Legend , based on the novel Ich bin Legende . In 2011, the comic adaptation Thor followed , for which Protosevich developed the story in collaboration with J. Michael Straczynski .

His last project was the US remake of the South Korean thriller of the same name , directed by Spike Lee . The film was released in theaters in autumn 2013.
