Mark Russinovich

Mark Eugene Russinovich (born 1966) is the CTO of Microsoft Azure . He was a co-founder of the software manufacturer Winternals before it was acquired by Microsoft in 2006.

Life

Russinovich initially received a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania . He then received his Master (M. Sc.) At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as well as the promotion of Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University.

Mark Russinovich worked for NuMega Technologies and IBM's Thomas J. Watson Research Center . During his time as chief programmer at Winternals, he practically emerged as the sole developer of the Windows Sysinternals tools. He also worked as an author of specialist books on Windows NT operating systems and with various articles for the Windows IT Pro magazine . Russinovich was a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP).

His successful defense against the Sony rootkit in 2005, a corporate affair that caused a sensation at the time, brought him notoriety far beyond the software-technical insider circles.
