Markart Merklin

Markart Merklin (* in Heilbronn ; † 1461 ibid) was mayor of the imperial city of Heilbronn in 1438, 1445 and 1450 .

The mayor Markart Merklin is mentioned for the first time in 1438. At that time the mayors of Heilbronn Erer and Markart Merklin obtained a performance title for Heinrich von Remchingen against the Jewish. Citizens Fifel zu Heilbronn, having to hand over treasures. On April 24, 1442, the mayor "Marquard" Merklin, as Heilbronn's authorized representative in the legal dispute between Eberhard Esslinger and the city of Heilbronn, promised to comply with the verdict. On May 30, 1442, "Marquard" Merklin and Ulrich Nenninger are authorized to represent the city as mayor in a legal dispute between Heilbronn and Matin Göler von Ravensburg . On May 28, 1445, Markart Merklin is the authorized representative of the city of Heilbronn as mayor for the Friday after Corpus Christi day and on February 25, 1450, Mayor Markart Merklin is asked to release Johann Salzmann from imprisonment. On January 7th, 1461 a certain Kollenberg made a statement to the former mayors Merklin and Hans Kriech that he wanted to stop playing, otherwise his fortune would be forfeited to his wife and children.
