Marko Ercegovac
Marko Ercegovac (born April 12, 1937 in Niš , Yugoslavia ; † February 15, 2012 ) was a Yugoslav or Serbian geoscientist. His specialty was micropalaeontology .
He received his doctorate in geosciences from the University of Belgrade in 1967 and then completed post- graduate studies in Germany . Since 1981 he has been a full professor of micropalaeontology at the University of Belgrade.
He has been a corresponding member since 2000 and a full member since 2006 of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts .
The focus of his research was the formation of crude oil and lignite from prehistoric algae and plants. To this end, he published a number of articles in Yugoslav and international journals.
