Marko Mesić (* around 1640 ; † February 2, 1713 in Karlobag ) was a Croatian pastor and freedom fighter. He is revered as a folk hero in Croatia .

Life

Originally, Marko Mesić comes from the Croatian noble family Mesić , which is based in Brinje . He was also a pastor in this region.

Commander in the military border

In 1689 he organized the uprising against the Ottoman Empire and liberated the Lika and Krbava regions .
