The Altheim market church is located in the municipality of Altheim in Upper Austria . The Roman Catholic branch church of St. Sebastian of the Altheim parish church belongs to the Altheim dean's office in the Linz diocese . The church is a listed building .

history

The church was built in 1634 during a plague period.

architecture

A retracted barrel-vaulted choir with a semicircle adjoins the single-nave, barrel-vaulted nave. The tower from 1763 in the southwest corner has a double-onion helmet.

Outside the choir is a tombstone with a relief figure from the 16th century.

Furnishing

The high altar from the third quarter of the 18th century was redesigned in 1939. The pulpit was built around the middle of the 18th century. In a rich figural rococo niche is a seated Mary with child in the manner of Johann Peter Schwanthaler the Elder. In the nave there are statues of the Man of Sorrows and Our Lady of Sorrows from the third quarter of the 18th century. In the organ gallery are three paintings from the second half of the 18th century.

One bell is from 1654.
