The market cross of Doune is the market cross of the Scottish town of Doune in the Council Area Stirling . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A. Between 1955 and 2016, the market cross was also classified as a Scheduled Monument .

The market cross was erected in the 17th century. Historic Scotland give a construction period around 1620. In a government decree from 1696, however, the “recently built market cross of Doune” is mentioned.

Today the market cross stands in the middle of a traffic island on the junction, known as The Cross , of George Street coming from the A84 into Main Street ( A820 ) in the center of Doune. It rests on a six-step pedestal . An octagonal shaft protrudes from this . The seated urn is decorated with the coats of arms of the Morays and Campbells . The market cross closes with two sundials and a lion sculpture.
