Marktplatz 21 (Bad Kissingen)
The Marktplatz 21 building in Bad Kissingen , the major district town of the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen, is located on the town’s marketplace , is one of the Bad Kissingen architectural monuments and is registered in the Bavarian Monument List under number D-6-72-114-64 .
history
The property was built as a gabled house in 1680. It is the only one of what was then probably several buildings in the Franconian half-timbered construction of the 17th century in Bad Kissingen.
According to the house inscription from Igna (t) z Weigand, the house was bought by Dr. Boxberger acquired and was named "Zum Mohren". After the First World War , the architect Leonhard Ritter exposed the half-timbered structure of the property.
For a long time, the property housed Weigang's wine tavern, in the immediate vicinity of which there were two restaurants until the Second World War : on the left, where two half-timbered houses stood side by side, the Reiterschlucht and on the right, between Weigands tavern and the former Karchs Weinstube (Weingasse 1), one small wine bar. Today there is a watchmaker's shop in the former wine bar.
After years of vacancy, an Italian restaurant was opened in the former Weigands restaurant.
