The Marktspiegel ( spelling : MarktSpiegel ) is a regional weekly newspaper for the greater Nuremberg area and, with a circulation of around 450,000 copies, is one of the highest-circulation advertising papers in Germany .

history

The newspaper was founded in 1980 by Ludwig Lauffs, Erwin Balaun and Christof Hiltner and appeared for the first time on September 18 of the same year with a circulation of 371,000 copies. The publishing and editorial offices have been located at Burgschmietstrasse 2-4 in the St. Johannis district since 1981 . In the meantime, the edition has reached 462,000 copies, today it is around 450,000. The current managing director and contract manager Harald Greiner has been in office since 2001.

The content of the newspaper is consumer information and advertisements for the Nuremberg region. In addition to consumer tips for the region, these include reports on local events as well as tabloid journalism on regional personalities and are compiled by an independent editorial team.
