Markus Ahlf (born November 28, 1977 ) is a former German soccer player.

Athletic career

Markus Ahlf comes from the youth department of TSV Reinbek , then he moved to FC St. Pauli . Ahlf played his only Bundesliga game for Hamburg in the 2-0 defeat against MSV Duisburg . After St. Pauli's relegation to the 2nd Bundesliga , the defender played three more seasons at Millerntor , but was never able to establish himself as a regular player.

In 2001 Ahlf moved to the Regionalliga Nord for Chemnitzer FC , where he was under contract until 2006. At the Himmelblauen Ahlf acted as a leading player, but was repeatedly thrown back by serious injuries.

In 2005, Ahlf and his teammate Steffen Karl were among the players who were suspected of having accepted funds in connection with the 2005 soccer betting scandal . While Steffen Karl was sentenced to nine months probation, he exonerated Ahlf with his statements.
