Markus Große Ophoff

Markus Große Ophoff (* 1961 in Gladbeck ) is a German chemist . He is honorary professor for event management and sustainability communication at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences . Since 2001 he has headed the Center for Environmental Communication of the German Federal Environment Foundation .

Life

Markus Große Ophoff studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University . In 1993 he received his PhD in macromolecular chemistry. After graduating, he worked as a research assistant at the Federal Environment Agency. His areas of work included in particular:

  • Disposal of waste at sea, disposal of platforms
  • Environmentally friendly painting technology
  • Electronic scrap and end-of-life vehicle recycling
  • Production-integrated environmental protection

In 1997 Markus Große Ophoff moved to the German Federal Environment Foundation as Head of Public Relations. From 2001 he took over the technical management of the center for environmental communication of the DBU as authorized signatory . Since 2003 he has been a lecturer at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. In 2014 he was appointed honorary professor for event management and sustainability communication. His work focuses on sustainable event management, sustainability communication as well as marketing and public relations.
