Markus Reuter

Markus Reuter (* 1972 in Lippstadt ) is a German guitarist , composer and music producer .

Life and work

He began to make music as early as 1975 and subsequently learned mandolin , guitar and piano with various teachers. He wrote his first compositions from the mid-1980s. In the 1990s he studied at Robert Fripps guitar school, with Gerd Lisken, Daniel Schell and Pandit Ashok Pathak. From 1993 to 1996 Reuter was a member of the Chaos Orchester Bielefeld, after which he joined centrozoon and the Europa String Choir. He now also played Chapman Stick and Warr Guitar and began teaching tapping . In the 1990s, Reuter also studied psychology at Bielefeld University .

In 1998 he made his solo debut, Taster , from then on he made regular releases with centrozoon, Europa String Choir, Ian Boddy and several other projects. In 2005 he founded TUNER with Pat Mastelotto , with whom he has also played in Tony Levin's Stick Men since 2011 and in The Crimson ProjeKct since 2012 . Reuter also works as a music producer and guitar designer.
