Markus Tillmanns

Markus Tillmanns (* 1975 in Nettetal ) is a German author of fantasy and crime novels.

Life

Markus Tillmanns first studied German and philosophy . In the meantime he is a teacher at a grammar school, which is why he gave up the post of chairman of the parliamentary group of the Greens in the Nettetal district of Lobberich .

After he won first place in a short story competition of the Heyne publishing house, he wrote his first fantasy novel Das Daimonicon , which takes place in the world of the black eye . The author immediately received the German Fantastic Prize 2003 in the category Best Novel Debut / national for the Aventurien novel published in 2003 . In the following year he made use of his philosophy studies and brought out the ancient crime novel Socrates and the Murderer of the Mysteries . This takes place in Athens in 406 BC, the philosopher Socrates is supposed to solve a murder with the help of his student Plato . In the meantime, two more fantasy novels with a “criminalistic” influence have been penned. In 2015 he won the self-publishing competition of the largest German fantasy magazine Nautilus with his urban fantasy novel "Teufel: Fantasy-Thriller".

He currently teaches German, philosophy and literature at the Geroweiher grammar school in Mönchengladbach.
