Markus father

Markus Vater (* 1970 in Düsseldorf ) is a contemporary German artist . He lives and works in London and Karlsruhe .

life and work

Markus father spent his childhood in the Eifel, where his father gave seminars on communication and group dynamics based on the models of Friedemann Schulz von Thun and Paul Wazlawick , which he said would influence his later work. After graduating from high school, father studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1994 , where he finished his studies in 1998 as a master class student. He then began a DAAD-sponsored master's degree at the Royal College of Art in London, which he completed in 2000.

Since then, his works have been and have been shown in numerous institutional group and solo exhibitions.

From 2012 to 2016 he taught at the Royal College of Art in London. In 2014 he was visiting professor at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . Since 2016 he has been teaching as a visiting professor at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe .
