Marlis A. Franke

Marlis A. Franke (* 1950 in Bamberg , lives in Berlin ) is a German poet , writer , audio artist and radio play author .

life and work

Marlis A. Franke wrote and staged numerous radio plays, especially in the 1980s for the SFB and WDR . The radio plays were characterized by innovative approaches and tone and sound compositions.

In 1987 Franke took part in the documenta 8 in Kassel in the World of Sounds and Noises: Metropolis with her contribution Metropolis Berlin / Metropolis Venezia - 2 island topophonies as an example of “acoustic visions of big cities on earth”.

"The assembly of the sound material for the composition followed the historical model of the motet " Exaudi, Deus "from the" Sacre a Symphoniae "by Giovanni Gabrieli ."
