The marbled sea cucumber or marble sea roller ( Bohadschia marmorata ) occurs in the Red Sea and in the western Indo-Pacific from the coast of East Africa, north to Japan and east to the islands of the southern Pacific . It lives between coral rubble or on coarse sandy soils at depths of 4 to 20 meters. During the day it hides under corals and becomes active at night.

The marble sea roller becomes 40 centimeters long and its body is cylindrical. They go through a color change over the course of their life. Young sea whales are solid brown to olive green. They hide in the sand during the day and are only active at night. The basic color of the fully grown marble sea roller is brown or yellow. The top is patterned with thousands of small black dots, there can also be large brown spots. The mouth is directed downwards, towards the ground, the anus is slightly raised. It is highlighted.

The marble sea roller feeds itself by ingesting sand, digesting the organic particles, debris and microorganisms, and excreting the rest. It has sticky, light blue Cuvier tubes to defend against the enemy .
