Hans A. Baensch

Hans Albrecht Baensch (born September 10, 1941 in Flensburg ; † November 2, 2016 ) was a German author , publisher and aquarist .

Hans A. Baensch was one of three sons of the biologist Ulrich Baensch (1917-2006), founder of Tetra GmbH . After an apprenticeship as a zoo trader, he joined his father's ornamental fish feed factory in 1961, traveled to almost all the ornamental fish centers on earth and took part in two Amazon expeditions, where he was involved in the discovery of three species of fish. In 1974 his first book, Kleine Seewasser-Praxis, appeared . Together with his wife, Baensch ran a book publisher for non-fiction books in the field of aquaristics, Mergus Verlag .
