Marsa Murena , also known as Marsa Abu Dabbab or Abu Dabbab Beach , is a small bay in southern Egypt on the Red Sea .
The bay has a square shape with a length and width of about 500 meters. It is located about 36 kilometers northwest of Marsa Alam in the governorate of al-Bahr al-ahmar . The bay is home to one of the most famous beaches around Marsa Alam, hotel complexes are located north and south of the bay.

The bay has a 50 meter wide and 500 meter long sandy beach that is used intensively for tourism. The bottom in the central part of the bay is sandy, here a seagrass meadow has formed at depths between 5 and about 25 meters. The water depth of the bay increases relatively steadily and reaches about 20-25 meters at the eastern end. There is a reef each on the north and south sides of the bay.
Diving area
The seagrass meadows and the reefs of the bay are a well-known diving area in the Marsa Alam region. It is home to a population of sea turtles . Also dugongs , guitar fish and sometimes dolphins are here, to be found in addition to the normal reef fauna of the Red Sea. The beach allows good access to the water, the current is mostly low, snorkeling is possible. At the bottom of the bay there is a rope that makes the way back easier in the case of strong surf and back currents . A fee of currently 10 euros has to be paid for visiting the beach.
