March art - art march

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marschkunst - Kunstmarsch was a landscape art campaign that took place between 1995 and 2006 in June to September in the Elbmarsch near Winsen (Luhe) southeast of Hamburg .

On the initiative of the married couples Sigrid and Peter Jacob, Karin and Walther Zander and Regine Bandyopadhyay, up to 70 works of art each have been produced annually since 1995, initially in meadows and fields , in private gardens and in public spaces, on dikes , rivers and canals or on ponds exhibited by north German artists mainly from Lower Saxony and Hamburg but also from Cologne and Berlin . These works, which were all set up in the open along the inland marshes with little traffic , formed a 10 to 15 kilometer art route in which more than 150 artists took part over the years. The works, some of which still exist, are still best visited by bike.
