The house registered in the Quedlinburg monument register is located in the northern part of Quedlinburg's old town, northwest of the town's market square. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The house Marschlinger Hof 7 , which is also listed, was adjacent to the west side, but was demolished at the end of 2012 after fire damage.

Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was built around 1780 in the baroque half-timbered style . There are profiled planks on the half-timbered facade. Around 1840 the house was rebuilt. Later it was used as a cobbler's shop.

At the east gable is a wall made of ashlars with a gate decorated with diamonds . Also noteworthy is the building's front door.

At the beginning of 2013, the first renovation and renovation work began, and Lebenshilfe Quedlinburg was planning to build a residential complex for assisted living for people with intellectual disabilities, as well as an advice center. For this purpose, the area of ​​the adjacent houses No. 6 and Weingarten 15 + 16 was also used after the buildings there were demolished at the end of 2012 due to the fire damage. The inauguration of the house took place in November 2016.
