Marta Warelis

Marta Warelis (* around 1990) is a Polish jazz and improvisation musician ( piano ) who works in the Netherlands.

Marta Warelis grew up in Poland and moved to Wroclaw at the age of 20, where she played in the groups of Evija Vēbere and Mateusz Kołodziejczyk. Then she studied at the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen; since 2014 she lives in Amsterdam. Since then she has worked in the jazz and improvisation scene there. a. in a duo with the saxophonist Ada Rave, a trio with Wilbert de Joode and Onno Goevart , in the trio by Ab Baars , with Xavier Pamploona and with Yung-Tuan Ku , Miguel Petruccelli , Tristan Renfrow .

She was involved in Evija Vēbere's album Dream Whispers (Cantina Records, 2014). In 2017 she presented the album Lost in Labyrinth (Casco Records) with the string formation Strings5 (with Raoul van der Weide , Jan Nijdam , Jacob Plooij , Henk Zwerver ) .
