Marten Julius (* 1966 ) is a former German handball player . As a right winger and a right back player , he played for TV Großwallstadt in the Bundesliga .

Career

Julius played for TuS Griesheim in the 2nd Bundesliga . After the 1991/92 season he rose with the club despite his 161 goals this season in the regional league. Because of his performance, Bundesliga club TV Großwallstadt signed him up . There, as a substitute right-winger behind Bernd Roos , he got little play and moved to the second division TSV GWD Minden after only one season with 13 goals . In Minden, too, Julius was often only a replacement behind Kai Stolze and his contract was not extended. When Stolze tore his Achilles tendon, however, he got a new contract until the end of the 1994/95 season and so he was able to contribute to promotion to the Bundesliga with 83 goals. From then on he wanted to devote himself to his professional career and therefore only played in the 2nd team in the regional league, where he immediately got the next two promotions in the association and the upper league. In 1998 he ended his career, but trained again with the Bundesliga team in order to be able to step in in an emergency. Julius was no longer on duty.
